The World Environment Day (which is on June 5) was organized in Umpiem Camp on June 6, 2012 by the Agricultural, Social Work and Healing of Memory and Reconciliation Programs of COERR in cooperation with the Agricultural program of TBBC and ZOA. The activities to celebrate the day are Competition of vegetable products and outstanding farmers, including the agricultural promotion campaign by having youth grow rice in the Agricultural office compound of Zone B, and plant 120 banana trees at Section 7. The ceremony, attended by 50 active youth and other interested people, has been aimed at promoting their own culture and providing children and youth to learn and participate in the traditional agriculture and environment which is important for their daily living.
